Speaker B:Conservative political principles generally emphasize the following core Limited government Advocating for a government with limited scope Focusing primarily on protecting individual rights, ensuring national security and maintaining public order while minimizing interference in personal and economic affairs Free market economics Supporting a free market system where individuals and businesses cooperate with minimal regulation Encouraging competition, innovation and personal responsibility Individual liberty and responsibility Prioritizing individual freedoms such as freedom of speech, religion and the right to property Paired with an emphasis on personal accountability and self reliance Traditional values Valuing long standing cultural, moral and societal norms, often with an emphasis on family, faith and community as foundational elements of society Rule of law Upholding the consistent application of laws to protect citizens and maintain order, often with a strong focus on constitutional principles and checks and balances Skepticism of rapid change Favoring gradual and cautious change rather than abrupt or revolutionary shifts in societal norms, laws, or governance to preserve stability and avoid unintended consequences national sovereignty Advocating for a strong sense of national identity, control over borders, and policies that prioritize the interest of one's own country over global governance Fiscal responsibility Supporting balanced budgets, reducing government debt and opposing excessive public spending or taxation Conservatism and conservatives often act as a counterweight to the long list of other ideologies seeking greater government involvement, systemic reform, or rapid societal change like progressivism, liberalism, socialism, communism, populism, fascism, libertarianism or environmentalism will explore these ideologies in greater detail in future videos.
Speaker B:Now, let's contrast a few policy differences between conservatives and liberals, since these are the two most prominent ways the major political parties, meaning Democrats and Republicans, the legacy corporate media, pundits, and even we the People characterize the division in our great country liberalism corresponding with Democrats and conservatism corresponding with Republicans, at least at the simplest level of association and division.

Speaker B:Liberals want larger government and want government to take an active role in addressing social and economic issues.
Speaker B:With regard to their economic philosophy, conservatives support free markets, low taxes and deregulation.

Speaker B:When it comes to social issues, conservatives support traditional values and are cautious about rapid change.
Speaker B:Liberals support progressive values, supporting social reform and equality.
Speaker B:The two ideologies differ on their view on rights.
Speaker B:Conservatives focus on individual rights with an emphasis on tradition.
Speaker B:Liberals focus on expanding civil rights and liberties.
Speaker B:When it comes to differences in approach to change, conservatives seek gradual, cautious change, preserving existing institutions.
